Mindful Self-Compassion Workshop

7:00 - 9:00PM
Fellowship Hall
Repeats, on the first Friday
The Mindful Self-Compassion group will meet for 6 weeks on the first and third Fridays in Discovery Hall, starting at 7. However on Jan. 16th we will meet in Fellowship Hall. We will be using course materials developed by Kristin Neff and Chris Germer, two researchers in the field of self-compassion.
Self-compassion is treating ourselves with the same kindness, care and understanding that we would offer to others when they suffer, fail, or feel inadequate. While many people worry that being too kind to ourselves will make us weak, research has shown that self-compassion turns out to be much more effective than self-criticism for success at work, health, personal relationships and fulfillment of our aspirations.
Together in the group, we'll learn more about the research and the various practices to help cultivate self-compassion, including guided meditations.
Please join us! You're welcome to come for the first session on a no-obligation basis to learn more. Please contact Michelle (mlieberg@bellsouth.net) or Pat (patricia.shea@gmail) for more information.
